Dogs and De Beauvoir Square

We're speaking with the Council about getting new dog waste bins put around De Beauvoir Square. Currently there's only one.

This is a popular area for local people to come and sit during the day. Parents and young children also make great use of the area.

Unfortunately a minority of dog owners have little respect for the area we all enjoy and allow their dogs to foul the grass and pavement without cleaning up after them - like the man photographed.

If you recognise him please get in touch, we'd like to ensure he doesn't do it again.

CPZ signs

Just after 8am on Wednesday residents got in touch to complain controlled parking signs poles were being put up in the area.

Over the past year we've worked with council officials and residents to reduce signage in the area as much as possible.

Because of local concern about street clutter, we asked council officials to stop the works until we establish whether they're really necessary.

Thankfully they agreed this was the best course of action. We'll keep residents posted on how discussions progress. Views welcome.

Meeting with Hackney Homes

Gulay, Chris and Rob met with the new head of Hackney Homes, Charlotte Graves, this week.

We arranged the meeting to discuss concerns residents have had on some of our estates.

The Chief Executive agreed to look into the wide range of issues raised with her, and we'll report back to all those who wanted housing matters resolved.

London Cycle Campaign is 30

Next week, London Cycling Campaign – the world’s largest independent urban cycling organisation – celebrates 30 years of lobbying to make London a more cycle-friendly city.

To do out bit, we're asking residents where they'd like to see cycle racks in De Beauvoir. We'll then ask Hackney Council to look into getting feasibility of having them installed.
