Hackney Foodbank in De Beauvoir

Hackney Foodbank has provided food to almost 2000 local in people in need since it was established in September 2012 and there are now two collection points in De Beauvoir to allow you to easily support this

Thanks to Lockner Estate TRA and The Mill Co Project here are now two collection points in De Beauvoir - Lockner Estate Community Flat on a Tuesday afternoon, and the Rose Lipman Building on a Friday. If you drop off you donations, they will be transported to the foodbank at the end of the day.

People who use the Hackney foodbank, part of the Trussel Trust's national foodbank network, are referred to it by local agencies such as the Citizens Advice Bureau and other local charities. You can find out more about the foodbank here.

We're proud to have played a role in setting up these collection points in De Beauvoir, and hope many residents are able to support this crucial safety net either by donating to food or any of the other resources listed below, or by promoting the collection points by putting up the poster below which can be downloaded here.

Blog updated 01/12/2013 - Hackney Foodbank have been in touch to say they've now helped more than 2400 people in the borough since their launch. If you'd like to keep up with their work please follow them on twitter here.
