This Saturday Hackney South's MP Meg Hillier will be holding a "Next Steps" event to help young people develop the skills and experience required to be successful in the jobs market and in developing their careers.
This event will begin by hearing from a panel of well established
professionals from different career backgrounds who will provide careers advice and talk about their journey into their chosen career. This will be
followed by a question and answer session.
The second half of the event will
include workshops and an opportunity to network with various professionals.
Networking Skills - which includes tips and advice on how to develop and improve networking skills. This session also includes guidance on how to project confidence and get the most out of conversations as well as helping to create more connections, and increase your self-confidence.
Presentation and Interview Skills - hosted by Carey English, a writer and actor, which includes an understanding of body language and tools to improve communication and develop interview skills.
CV workshop - including tips on how to write a CV and a covering letter.
The
event will be held at Suleymaniye Mosque, 212-216 Kingsland Road, London E2 8AX
on the morning of Saturday 7th July 2012.
