Policing and Crime Roadshow Events

As part of the Mayor of London's Police and Crime Plan the Mayor's Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) are holding a series of Town Hall Roadshows in every borough of the capital.

MOPAC is seeking local views to help shape the Police and Crime Plan which will be published in April 2013. This plan will set out strategies to reduce and tackle crime in London over the next four years.

A presentation on the current proposals for Hackney will be made on the night. Some of the changes affecting our area are: Hackney Police Station by Clapton Square will close, Shoreditch Police Station on Sheperdess Walk will become a limited hours front counter service, whilst Stoke Newington Station on Stoke Newington High Street will remain as a 24-hour-a-day service. The Safer Neighbourhood Teams will be merging within the Force, apparently leading to more officers within the teams on the streets.

The Hackney Roadshow event takes place at the Hackney Assembly Hall on Thursday 24th of January from 6 to 7 pm.

If you wish to attend you can register now at the Greater London Authority website.

A full list of all the Roadshows is also available on the site.

If you have any questions about this consultation or the work of the Mayor's Office for Policing and Crime you can contact them via email or phone 020 7202 0202.
