New home for De Beauvoir Surgery

De Beauvoir Surgery is settling in to it's new home on Hertford Road, leaving behind its longtime base on Englefield Road.

Dr Gary Marlowe, Dr Haoli James and Dr Katy Young alongside the many nurses and support staff are now based at their new surgery in the Kingsland Wharf development, just east of De Beauvoir Estate.

The team will use the base to continue to serve the De Beauvoir area, providing high quality, personal healthcare to local residents.

By west, you mean east.

Pity the sign on the old door doesn't explain where this is. I have been asked by two patients in Hertford Road how to find the number (and didn't know at the time).

I gather they wanted to use that empty section of the Edith Cavell building next to the fire station but someone wanted to shoehorn them into this L&Q development for political reasons. True?

Anonymous 1 - I rode past the old Englefield Road surgery this morning and there was a sign on the door, but perhaps they could do with a map as well? We'll drop them a line to suggest it. I know that they've sent letters to all patients registered there telling them about their new address.

Anonymous 2 - we've not been part of the discussions on how the new site was chosen, but the Edith Cavell building was sold by the Council about a decade ago so any decision to move there would have been a matter between the the building's current private owner and the surgery. As far as we know, for the past few years the Hertford Road site has been the surgery's preferred location. If that's not the case, that's the first time we've heard it.
