On Saturday afternoon we continued our campaign to save De Beauvoir's Kingsland Fire Station with a street stall on Kingsland Road outside the station.
Over the course of two hours, local councillors, residents and Jules Pipe, the Mayor of Hackney, spoke with hundreds of local people, added 170 signatures to our petition, and handed out more than 500 'Save Kingsland Fire Station' newsletters.
It was great to be able to speak to so many local residents about the threatened closure, and explain what we're doing to lobby the Mayor of London to change his mind.
If you haven't yet signed the petition and would like to you can do so here.
Kingsland Fire Station is one of seventeen fire stations across London which have been earmarked for closure by the Mayor of London. If it was to close the closest fire stations to De Beauvoir would be in Old Street and in Stoke Newington. Upper Street fire station is also under threat of closure.
You can find out more about the story on the BBC News website.
