As part of Hackney Council's promotion of cycling in the borough, a temporary cycle stand has been placed on Penn Street in De Beauvoir Ward.
This is a trial 'car bike port', which are used for a maximum of eight weeks and monitored regularly to assess the level of local cycle parking demand. If there proves to be demand for regular cycle parking the council will consider installing permanent facilities
If it is appropriate a further consultation with residents will be undertaken at the conclusion of the trial.
The temporary stand is placed in front of numbers 23 to 28 Penn Street taking up a 5.5m section of the residential parking bay. Following the eight-week trial the parking bay will be reinstated for local residents.
