Well-being in Winter

The winter months can be an especially difficult time for elderly people, those with young children, or people with low incomes or health problems. Hackney Council provides many resources for advice and planning in keeping safe and warm in the coming months.

Well Winter Check.
Residents can receive a free Well Winter Check with advice on energy bills and benefit checks as well as many other services.
This service is available by calling 0800 281 768.

Seasonal Health Information Network (SHINE).
SHINE is an additional referral service providing a wide range of services including home security checks, income maximisation advice and registration for vulnerable person services from utility providers.
There is an online form on the council website to refer for assessment any person that requires assistance. Further information on this as well as the Well Winter Check service is available on the council website and also by request via email.
